To change behavior takes commitment of time and resources. 

Faced with the task of losing weight,  many do not have (or make) the time necessary for meaningful change.  The habits that have led to excessive weight and obesity have developed over years and —- while they can be changed — will require a concerted and sustained effort.

This requires not only time and effort by the person losing the weight —  but also from those around that person.

A team effort to insure that only allowed foods are available for consumption (supply-side dieting) and that opportunities for hedonism are eliminated (demand-side dieting).

The team must make eating pleasurable, and consciously reinforce behaviors that eliminate emotional and unconscious eating.

The team must provide opportunities for pleasurable sustainable exercise on a regular basis.
